Not a nice title I know, but that is what today entailed. As I wrote previously in another post, Austin had a new type of growth on his face. I th

ought it was just a cherry freckle but it was getting bigger and ugly! Today I was looking at it and was concerned and thought it was time for the thing to go. I laid Austin down for his nap around 1130am and checked on him around 2-ish pm and still asleep but there was nothing wrong at that point. It was when I came in around 3pm to change for Kevin's football game and Austin was climbing up his playpen as he usually does and I go over to him and his face is covered in blood! From his hair to his chin but get this? He smiles and giggles at me as he usually does when he wakes up. I kne

w what it was when I saw him though. That darn thing popped! His bed was soaked in the blood in one spot and it was still bleeding. I'm not sure when he did it but it was between 230pm and 3pm. So I call Kevin and get him home ASAP b/c I can't get it to stop bleeding and Austin was not liking me chasing him around trying to soak up the blood from his face. So I call the docs and they said since it hasn't stopped bleeding to go to the ER. We did that and got seen pretty quick. (baby and blood equals ASAP!) So it stops bleeding of course when we get to the hospital and the doc said to just apply pressure and get with Peds to get it removed; that it was a blood blister. Yuck! So we get home to change him out of his 'bloody' clothes, put

new ones on him and it bleeds AGAIN! I was like screw it, we are still going to the football game. So it took another 20 mins to get it to stop (now this is a 10 month baby who does not like being touched on his face) and it being sorta cold out it dries up good. He's fine until once again we get home and I think he touches his face and it goes AGAIN!! So I put him in his highchair and feed him to distract him from me trying to get to stop bleeding and then Kevin takes over while I run out to Walmart to find something to cover up the spot so it would stop or so when it did stop bleeding he wouldn't open it back up again. Right before i go, Kevin decides to take the high chair outside so the blood could dry up. That's where the video comes into play. (If the video is not working, go to mypage on Myspace-
http://www.myspace.com/blondewondering) Apparently Austin finds it funny that Kevin was spitting. BOYS! :)
Neways, so I get some circle bandaids and with a few minor adjustments and a fit from the boy we get him patched up and it's been ok since around 8:30pm. What a day huh? So I'm getting an appointment tomorrow for them to get that thing off his face. Luckily he's y

oung enough to not remember what it will take to do that. Poor guy is going to have to either go under or be strapped down and poked and prodded. So there you have it. Fun huh?
Aww, I'm sorry that yall are having to deal with the mole, but hopefully once it's removed there won't be any more issues.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Austin is just a cute as can be! Love the new pictures.
