I fixed my laptop all by myself!

I feel smart now. Like super duper smart! And talented and all of the above. Well here's the story: I have been watching seasons of CSI on the laptop and had it next to my computer in my room. The cord was wrapped around my chair. Austin and Kevin were playing in my room and the sun was setting. It was kind of in Austin's face and he kept having to move his face away from it so I thought I would be nice and move the curtain to get the sun out of his face. So in moving to do that, my chair moved along with me which in turn moved the laptop...to the floor, with a nice crash! We didn't think much about it because sadly, the laptop has fallen before, no big deal we think right? Wrong this time! I pick up the laptop from the floor and the screen is completely messed up. The lcd liquid goo stuff is all over the place on the screen not coming out or anything. From far away you swear its a snowed covered mountain on the screen or something. So I of course start tearing up because its just another electronic that I've broken within months. Before this was the external hard drive. I call up HP and it will $400 to fix. At first we take it, and then at work I do the research and the way its explained it seems like it would be a easy fix. Just buy a screen same size, model and you're good to go. So that's what I did. I canceled the HP order and got another screen from ebay. It came in, I hooked up the screen, put it all back together and turned it on. Boots right back up like nothing was wrong. :) It was great! I feel super happy it all worked out! It's pretty easy to do actually. A monkey could figure this out. Don't let electronics scare you. All that's holding that montior onto that backing is two ribbon type cables and a few screws. Quite easy.
